What are the signs and symptoms of excessive gambling disorder?

  1. A person has obsessive thoughts and urge to gamble.
  2. A person gambles even when he or she cannot afford it.
  3. A person neglects personal needs and responsibilities because he or she is always preoccupied with the thought of gambling.
  4. A person does not want other people to know about his or her gambling activity.
  5. The person’s friends and family are worried about his or her gambling activity.

What are the complications of excessive gambling disorder?

  1. Financial problems
  2. Legal problems
  3. Relationship and personal problems
  4. Poor health
  5. Anxiety and depression

What are the ways to prevent a gambling disorder?

  1. Keep in mind that gambling is a form of entertainment for leisure purposes only. It is not a substitute for a job or a way to make money.
  2. Set limits on both time and money spent. Don’t chase your losses.
  3. Stop when it is already causing stress and you are already spending too much time on it.

Exclusion Program

In cooperation with PAGCOR, gaming patrons can exclude themselves, or members of their family can request their exclusion, from playing in any casino in the Philippines by availing of the Self-exclusion or Family-exclusion program.
